Support is available in a number of forms:

  • An orienteering map can be made of of your school (or updated if one is already available) and training provided to enable you to use software to plan & print your own courses.  Basic information about orienteering activities suitable for schools will also be provided. Schools need to be prepared to contribute towards the cost of a new map. The amount will vary depending on school size (Primary School, High School, R - 12 Campus).  A quote will be provided when a mapping request is submitted.
  • For the schools with an orienteering map - see this SCHOOL MAP. Note that some maps may require an update in order to be used for orienteering activities in the school.
  • Subject to availability a coach will be able to work with you with an in school activity using the above map. Cost: $50 per class for a one hour session or similar including gst. .  The cost for maps where supplied by OSA will be advised.  Please email below to discuss your requirements and  the costs.
  • Primary schools are encouraged to apply for Sporting Schools funding to cover costs of in school sessions and production of a school map.

D) Do it Yourself Orienteering

  A growing number of permanent courses are also set up which can be accessed at any time and do not require controls to be put out and collected. For more information go to DIY Orienteering.

Some virtual orienteering maps are also available for use with an phone app - MapRun.  The maps are also available for a PDF download - refer to Mobile Orienteering

E) How a teacher can become a Level 0 Coach in Orienteering.
