Check out the current Event Calendar or Upcoming Events (scroll down the right hand column).  Most events are pre-entry in Eventor.  To enter, first create a Casual Registration in Eventor on the Register page.  Refer to this How To document.

The Learn To Orienteer program will be run again in 2026. The program is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to those who might have tried orienteering but want more formal training.  Add your name to the Wait List if you are interested in this program in 2026.

To do orienteering in your own time, choose a DIY Permanent Course or download the MapRun App for Android and iOs. New maps are added regularly.

  • The latest issue of SA Orienteer Quarterly newsletter is now online. Click here to access Issue 1/2026 and archive.
  • The Australian Orienteer, including back copies is now stored on FLIPHTML5. To see the new link go to About Us->News->Australian Orienteer
  • The St Peters River Park Permanent Courses have been re-opened. The map has been re-drawn in sprint style with lots of updates. The courses have also been modified. To download a course for this or any other permanent course go to Permanent Course 
  • The results for the SA Long Championships for 1999 and 2005 have been recovered and can be seen by going to Results -> Results Archive
Great turnout for the 2025 Orienteering SA Awards - see the winners list below. Thank you to everyone who made it happen, a list too long to cover in one post. But we do need to thank Erica Diment for running a tight schedule and the Junior Arrows for a magnificent spread. Maze-O brought out friendly rivalry, keeping Maze-O manager Nigel Dobson on his toes.  Catering by the Junior Arrows was an addition to their tremendous fund rainsing this year lead by Sophie Bird.
 
Special thanks to our volunteer community, all the mappers, course setters, event organisers, controllers, coaches, Arrows and Darts team managers, caterers and the zillion other people who support our sport behind the scenes and at every event, whether managing registrations, putting out the enews or welcoming newcomers.  Thanks to President Rob Tucker, the OSA board and the Council members.
